Sycamores Barn is located at the end of a quiet country lane in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and within the Isle of Wight Heritage Coastline designated area.

Brighstone Village

Brighstone nestles between the Island’s south west coast and the chalk downs to the North. Brighstone village's historic centre contains many attractive thatched cottages and an interesting twelfth century church in a picturesque setting. The centre of Brighstone is protected as a Conservation Area, with over 80 buildings and structures designated as Listed Buildings.

The Village has two local stores, a pub, sub-post office and Village Museum.

Mottistone Manor

The National Trust property at Mottistone Manor is only a short walk from Sycamores. The gardens of this Elizabethan manor house are open to the public from March to October. Planting includes herbaceous borders, an organic kitchen garden and traditional tea garden. The warm climate in this area also allows for a warmer Mediterranean garden and olive grove to flourish as well as the more traditional country garden flowers.

Surrounding Countryside

Much of the surrounding Countryside, as well as being protected as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Heritage Coastline, is also owned by the National Trust. This combination means that the area retains much of the traditional beauty and un-spoilt rural charm which makes Sycamores an ideal base from which to explore this wonderful area. We are therefore pleased to welcome walkers, cyclists and pets.
